Travers ‘Candyman’ Beynon’s Instagram famous children have had their accounts taken down from the social media site.

The Gold Coast tobacco tycoon claimed his model daughter Lucciana and DJ son, Valentino, were both suddenly and unexpectedly barred from the site.

While Beynon said no explanation was given, he believes it has to do with a complaint he made against the social media giant.

The millionaire claimed his name and image were used in fraudulent sponsored advertisements that appeared on Instagram and Facebook without his knowledge or permission.

‘It’s pretty heavy-handed behavior for Instagram to target my kids, both of whom have promising careers in entertainment, and obviously rely on social media to promote themselves,’ he said.

Beynon first noticed the advertisements in January, where his celebrity profile was being linked to various Facebook ‘sponsored ads’.

He claims the ads referenced an article that contained a fictitious interview with the playboy.

In it, he is said to have supported a cryptocurrency product – something Beynon said he has absolutely no connection with whatsoever.

Following his complaints to Instagram, Beynon claimed the social media site retaliated by tearing down his children’s Instagram pages.

‘It’s bad enough to allow scam advertisements to use my name on their website, but to then try to destroy the careers of my kids just because I’ve raised a legitimate complaint is a low act,’ he said.

Valentino Beynon is an up-and-coming DJ who is making a name for himself in the music scene with his 16,000 strong Instagram followers.

While Beynon has claimed the decision to tear down his children’s accounts is retaliatory, he admitted no explanation has been given.

In the meantime, his lawyers have been advised to launch a litigation suit against Instagram and Facebook in the Queensland Supreme Court.

There, Beynon hopes to pull down the sponsored advertisements that he claimed linked his name and profile without his permission.

‘Unfortunately, to date our client’s attempts to sensibly resolve this issue seem to have been largely ignored,’ Beynon’s media lawyer Brendan Nyst said.

‘So I’m afraid there’s only one way forward from here.’
