22 Apr Surfers Paradise nightclub Sin City teams with Candyman for parties

AN infamous Gold Coast playboy and risque Glitter Strip nightclub are teaming up for supercharged monthly party nights.

Tobacconist tycoon Travers ‘Candyman’ Beynon with DJ son Valentino have done a deal with Sin City in Surfers Paradise to run a regular theme night dubbed “Sinful Candy” with Valentino on the decks.

Beynon, who hosts a wild annual house party at his Helensvale spread dubbed the Candy Shop Mansion, says for the Sin City shindigs they will adopt ideas picked up on party trips to Belgium, Paris and Dubai.

“Guests are always saying a year is too long to wait to attend the Candy-man party at the mansion so it’s time to do more. After spending time in all the nightclubs, Sin City had the best vibe when I partied there and the management team are first class. I believe it’s time your experience of a night out should be pushed to the next level,” Beynon says.

Valentino says in the past year he has decided to make his passion for DJing his career and is looking forward to revving it up at Sin City.

He also says he prefers it when his “work harder, play harder” father comes out with his mates.

“What’s it like to party with my dad? Real simple: crazy.

“Just when you think he may be getting older he goes harder. He’s definitely not a normal dad. I prefer when my Dad comes out. We have the best time when he’s around.”

Artesian partner Matt Keegan, whose hospitality group has a stake in Sin City, said the combination would result in “a party the Coast has never seen” to showcase “unique brands Sin City, Valentino and the Candyman”.

Mr Keegan adds; “We’re extremely excited to be working with the Candyman team and Valentino. Anyone who knows their brands and Sin City knows that these parties will be ones you cannot miss.

“Without saying too much, we’re trying to bring the entertainment and experience you get at other world-class venues overseas like Vegas and LA to the Gold Coast,” Keegan says.

The first official Sinful Candy night is May 3. Valentino headlines tomorrow night on Saturday in an Easter gig which his father and entourage of Candy Mansion bikini models will attend.

Among VIPs who have partied at Sin City include sprint legend Usain Bolt during the Commonwealth Games and Amber Heard during filming of Pirates of the Caribbean.
